If I could be completely honest, I jumped at the chance to review this for extremely selfish reasons. It peaked my interest rather intensely, and with my lack of motivation at the current moment-seemed like something I NEEDED to read.
I was not disappointed.
Reading Jim Gaffney's story from a 300 lb sick man to a highly motivated marathon runner is obviously going to be inspiring. But what made it so good, is how obtainable he makes his jouney seem.
Difficult? Oh yes.
But nonetheless, he takes you through his journey and shows you how ANYONE can do what he did. I don't care who you are or where you are on your fitness journey-EVERYONE can benefit from such a testimony.
We all love overcomers, which is exactly why I know you'll love this. In less than 60 pages, you get a pretty decent rundown of Gaffney's successes and failures. It's not a "how-to" book, it's a realstic view at what is obtainable when we get off our rear ends and just go.
Because essentially, that's all Gaffney did. He just went-and kept going.
