My Mother's Quilts (WIN A QUILT)
Monday, June 20, 2016
My grandma was absolutely one of the coolest people on the planet. Growing up on a farm with 17 brothers and sisters-she had some pretty good stories and a lot of street smarts.
One of her most beautiful talents were her quilts. You can see just a few of of my childhood ones she made above. This is something I remember her doing on the reg while I was growing up. She rarely used a machine, but had the quilt frame she would put up in the living room and would work by hand. She taught me too, and I am really wanting to attempt my first quilt soon.
She passed in 2004, due to breast cancer-so you can imagine the treasure these quilts are. I snuggled with these for years, and now I snuggle under them with my own children. They're absolutely priceless.
This is the main reason I wanted to check out Ramona Richard's devotional, "My Mother's Quilts", and I wasn't disappointed.
This is a FULL COLOR devotional with simple stories that demonstrate deep truths. Some of these stories are just to uplift, while others teach valuable lessons. There are roughly 60 of these stories-all of which are valuable in their own right.
Each devotion comes with a "prayer starter", bible verse, and gorgeous photos of the most phenomenal quilts! I could seriously line my house with all of the quilts in this book. They're amazing!
Speaking of wanting a quilt, you have an opportunity to win one yourself!!!

This is a sweet book I'll treasure. I wish that my grandma was here to share this book with her. I know she too, would have enjoyed it as much as I have.
