16 Amazing Bibles and Devotionals for the Entire Family!

As Christians, we are wanting to saturate our family with God's Word, and sometimes we need a little help. I'm a big fan of using devotionals to assist in covering our hearts with the Lord's promises, commands, and hopes for us. Here are a few that I think would be great for anyone in your family!

1. The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden by Kevin Young and Don Clark. This is a beautiful telling of the Bible in only 20 mins. You get the video version as well as the audio book. We LOVE this. It helps the kids understand the linear story of Jesus from the beginning of the Bible through the end. The imagery is also stunning!

2.  The Beginner's Bible. Most of us are highly familiar with the artistry in this book! It's like seeing an old friend for me because I remember watching the cartoons as a kid. This chubby storybook is great for little hands and new readers. It has bold colors, as well as bold text that's easy to read and understand. This is truly a great Bible for a beginner and my littles LOVE to look at it, while my oldest enjoys reading it to her little brothers. I'm not sure you can go wrong with this one!

3. The Jesus Storybook Bible. This is another one with absolutely beautiful illustrations that little kids (and even adults!) are really drawn to. We don't have this one in our collection yet, but I look through it every time I see it and all of my mama friends adore it as well. The format makes it easy for kids to understand, and narrate back. This is a biggie for me!

4. The Action Bible. I have no doubt that we will be getting this one very soon. It's been out for a little bit, and I've looked through a few times. It's in a graphic novel format which just makes my geeky heart all kinds of happy! This would be an excellent gift for a teen or any kid that's big into comics and the superhero game!

5.  Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young. Honestly, you can include any of Sarah Young's devos in this list! Each time I read them, I ALWAYS cry. It seems that what I need to hear is always right there in the palm of my hand. Her series of books are so beautifully written, I dare you not to be motivated and enlightened when you read them.

6. Veggies Tales: Every Day with God. This is actually what we are currently reading with our kids. We allow them to pick a number each night, instead of just going in order. It makes them extremely excited! These are very short, basic teachings-but it gets our kids talking. There is also a version for boys, but honestly-these work great for the whole family!

7.  ESV Family Devotional Bible. I've done a review of this before, but this is a great all around Bible. It's a normal ESV Bible with devotionals scattered through. Being an all-in-one means you can do a little deeper research without having to pull another Bible out. I highly recommend it.

8. The Golden Children's Bible. This is a classic! The stories are more in-depth than most children's bibles and the illustrations are amazing. This is what I use for the kids' schoolwork. We also have daddy's version from when he was a kid!

9. 40 Days to a Joyful Motherhood by Sarah Humphrey. Coloring and a devotional in one! Can you go wrong with that? This beautiful book has a devotion and a coloring page to do each day. If you're a slow colorer like me, you can go over this book more than once. And even when you've colored every inch, it's still a great uplifting devotional to hold on to.

10. Power of a Praying Teen by Stormie Omartian. I've read many of Stormie's books, and I consider them all really wonderful. I read her Power of a Praying Wife, while my marriage was super rocky. It helped me considerably through that time! Definitely check out her series of writings. They are well worth it.

11. Getting to Know Jesus by Eric Kampmann. This is quite a thick book, with short devotions to do each day. This is actually the book I've started for 2017! Because they are but small morsels of truth to read, no one has an excuse not to start their day with a bit of the Word! It;s also dated, so it's extremely easy to keep track of your place each day. If you're a new Christian, a busy one, or one who struggles to absorb huge blocks of information at once-check this book out. Yes, their little devotions but not void of power.

12. Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham. I watched my grandma read this every day. It's an oldie but goodie. It's Billy Graham-do I really need to say more?

13. The Love Dare Day by Day by Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick. Fireproof came out, right as our marriage was beginning to implode. We started doing this book together, and although it didn't create miracles, it got us talking about some seriously important issues. To be rather blunt, it was this book that caused us to realize how selfish we were.

14. Experiencing God Through His Names by Sheryl Giesbrecht. Hubby and I started going through this together. Sheryl goes into pretty good detail about the origin of each name as well as an easy explanation. I have found a renewed awe of the Lord while reading this. He has all of the names for a reason. I plead with you to check this out. He is truly more than just the King of Kings or I Am. This little book shows us how real and personal our relationship with our Father should be.

15. The Resolution for Men by Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick. Another book born from a Kendrick film, this came out of the movie Courageous. After we saw this movie together, my husband picked this book up and finished the whole thing within a week or two. He hates reading. When asking him about a men's devotional for this post, he quickly mentioned this book. We also have The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer, which I haven't had the chance to read. I have no doubt that it's probably really moving since Priscilla is an amazing writer.

16.  The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Ace Collins. I know we just got through Christmas, but I had to include this one. It's a countdown to Christmas that doesn't include chocolate! This little gem is so easy to read, that it will work great with kids present as well. Each day has a story, verse, and even a Christmas hymn to sing together! It's also extremely compact, making to easy to travel with as you go visit family! This a new addition to our home, and I will continue to use it as a tradition for years to come!
